One of my favorite weddings last year was on my new friend, Janice's, gorgeous property in Wenatchee, Washington. Isn't that just the best thing about being a wedding planner! Every time, I end up with these amazing new friends for life!
So, new friend Janice's son was getting married and the bride and groom's only request was that the ceremony be on their family property which boasts gorgeous views and an estate vineyard. If you've ever planned a wedding on private property you know it can create some unique challenges for the home-owners (think massive amounts of landscaping, cleaning, parking lot paving, all those projects you've been putting off, etc.)
The darling couple was living in Oregon, from New York, so guests were flying in from all over the country and we wanted to showcase the natural beauty around the property.
It wasn't hard to do...
Nature had other plans for this gorgeous outdoor wedding and dinner. First, wildfires in north central washington tried very hard to take out the entire property just weeks earlier causing significant damage (notice the blackened hills in the background) and requiring A LOT of new landscaping. Then during the rehearsal dinner we had high winds (think face-fulls of soot from the surrounding hills) and heavy rains during the ceremony. So, with some creative planning our outdoor party turned into a beautiful indoor/covered deck dinner and ceremony! Perfect!
This eclectic, colorful couple, who met in Africa, wanted to enhance the natural beauty with pops of color. We used bright dahlias from a local farm in bubble jars, a fantastic woven runner and our yellow stripe napkins to make the tables pop.
Gorgeous lettering and text was used throughout the space to direct guests and highlight the couple's love of poetry.
Drago and Daenerys, ftw. (Game of Thrones wedding anyone?)
The surround vineyard and property boasts some seriously gorgeous trees so we added whimsy and color with lace and satin ribbons that blew gently in the breeze.
The Ketubah was absolutely gorgeous and a beautiful symbol of the couples love and commitment.
My beautiful friend Janice and her gorgeous daughter-in-law. So much love between these two!
It was an honor to help with this stunning wedding for these incredible families.
